Here in the Great Lakes Bay, we get the engines roaring for over 60,000 car fanatics each year, as Midland fills with the sights and sounds of the Largest Outdoor New Car Show on the entire continent - the Northwood University International Auto Show.  But that's not the only way you can enjoy automobiles new and old in the Great Lakes Bay before summer comes to a close.  Check out these 10 upcoming car, truck, and motorcycle shows you simply won't want to miss: 


Chesaning River Days Cruisin' to the River Car Show
Downtown Chesaning - July 12 

Festival begins July 10th and runs through July 13th.  A family fun-filled weekend at Showboat Park that includes a parade, sports tournaments, crafts and entertainment each night.  For more information, call the Chesaning Chamber of Commerce at 989-845-3055 (M-F 9am-2pm).


Cool City Car Show
Bay City - July 11-12 

A cruise kicks off the weekend on Friday, July 11 in Essexville and ends in Bay City at Bay Lanes Bowling Center with a street party and live music. The festivities continue on Saturday with a car show and awards at the Delta College Planetarium & Learning Center.

 

Old Town Motorfest
Old Town Saginaw - July 20

Wander through the tree-lined streets of Old Town Saginaw and see the classics, hotrods, sports vehicles, motorcycles and more. Vendors will be available for refreshments. Cash awards given every 30 minutes!

 

Michigan Antique & Collectible Festival and Car Show
Midland - July 19-20 and September 20-21

Mid-Michigan's Largest Classic Car Show with awards returns to the Midland fairgrounds. When done checking out the classics, head over to the Swap Meet and the For-Sale Car Lot. And if that isn't enough, visit Michigan's largest collection of antique and collectible dealers (over 1000 dealers across 80 acres!)

 

Back to the Island Car & Motorcycle Show
Saginaw - August 24

New location: Behind the Bridgeport Fire Station & Township offices.  Cash prizes are awarded every 30 minutes beginning at 11:00 am. See muscle cars, hot rods, low riders, classics, cruisers, sports cars, trucks, motorcycles and custom vehicles. Enjoy a pancake breakfast 8:00 am to noon.

 

Low 4 Life Car Show
Saginaw City Center - August 31

Car show, live music and vendors are all part of the well-established Low 4 Life Car Show. Hosted by the Low 4 Life Car Club, this annual show marks its first appearance at the beautiful new FirstMerit Bank Event Park (across from the Dow Event Center), beginning at 2:00pm.

 

Frankenmuth Autofest
Frankenmuth - September 5-7

The three days of ‘auto-fun' begins on the streets of Frankenmuth and ends at Heritage Park. Over 2,500 cars, all 25 years old or older! Street rods, muscle cars, classics, and more will bring back memories for some and create dreams for others.

 

25th Annual Midland Cruise'n Car Show
Midland - September 12-13

Main Street is the stage for a "Cruise Parade" that starts on Friday night at 7:00 pm. The "Cruiser's Ball" is that evening at the corner of McDonald & Main, 8:00 pm-10:00 pm. Then on Saturday, Main Street puts on display hot rods, street machines, customs, antiques, trucks & motorcycles for all to view for free.

 

Great Lakes Stampede All Ford & Mustang Car Show
Saginaw - September 21

Ford vehicles dated 1903 to the present, of which all are Ford powered, will be on display at Nexteer Automotive (3900 E. Holland Rd-Saginaw); 8:00am-4:00pm; Open to all Ford products 1903 to the present.

 

Northwood University International Auto Show
Midland - October 10-12

The largest outdoor new car show in North America features over 65 manufacturers and 500 vehicles on display, from Ford and Chevrolet to Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. The show is 100% student run with over 60,000 visitors per year.  This years theme? "Take the Wheel." It's all about the connection between the consumer and their vehicle, and getting people back in touch with what made the car so exciting in the first place.
