There's nothing quite like the clap of shoes against the trail, the whir of bike tires gripping the pavement, and the soft, rhythmic sound of paddles pulling against the water. But this isn't your average race. This is an all-out urban triathlon, where you'll row, ride, and (yes) even run the magnificent miles that make up our beautifully-revitalized city center here in Downtown Saginaw. Get ready rowers, riders, and runners: this is an epic, urban outdoor experience you won't soon forget!

Row

When you sign up for the Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail Row/Ride/Run this June, you're signing up to take the scenic route to some of Pure Michigan's most serene landscapes and historic sights. That's because this one-of-a-kind urban triathlon starts with a paddle on the scenic Saginaw River and secluded Lake Linton, taking in the authentic, natural beauty of the just-off-shore Japanese Cultural Center & Tea House. Watch for lush weeping cherry trees and ornate gardens as you pass the Tea House, making your way toward the historic Montague Inn and Saginaw's own Ojibway Island.

Ride

After your picturesque paddle, a 20K cycle through Downtown Saginaw will show off some of its most historic and surprising architecture. Here, you'll take in sights like the SVRC Marketplace (a year-round, indoor farmers market and so mcuh more!), the boldly and beautifully restored Bancroft building (home to luxury apartments and a 1920s-style speakeasy), and the Downtown Saginaw Farmer's Market.

Run

Wrap up your rowing, riding, running experience with a 5k set along the Saginaw Riverwalk, winding through Ojibway Island on the banks of the Saginaw River. Take in the summer scenery that surrounds with each step and consider yourself completely immersed in an outdoor oasis of Pure Michigan perfection!
