Learn to add color to natural fabrics such as silk and cotton through the Japanese process known as Shibori and by experimenting with batik wax and other resist methods. Mixing of dyes to produce unusual colors is encouraged. Students will also be exposed to thiox - a color reducing method that produces interesting effects and indigo. Students will leave with a silk scarf and portions of cotton fabric they have processed.
