The centerpiece of The Whiting Forest Project is a 1400-foot fully-accessible canopy walk, the longest in the nation. The pond arm hovers over the serene forest ponds. A shelter and moveable seating encourage reflection. The Spruce Arm immerses visitors in the forest canopy on an expanse of cargo net suspended over the forest floor. The Orchard Arm highlights the open sky with views of The Whiting House, 13,600-square-foot playground, and four-zoned orchard. A partial opening is scheduled for Spring of 2018. A grand opening will take place in 2019 with the addition of an amphitheater and two pedestrian bridges connecting Dow Gardens. Visit www.dowgardens.org for more information.
