Details

The Community Center was developed jointly by the State of Michigan, City of Bay City, and County of Bay. Now operated by the County of Bay, the Community Center offers recreational facilities, and provides an excellent location for basketball, volleyball, and other team sports. A smaller, multi-purpose sized gymnasium is suitable for basketball and large gatherings such as wedding showers, trade shows, and card tournaments. Meeting rooms of various sizes can accommodate groups of any size ranging up to 240 people. The Community Center swimming pool is a 444,000 gallon outdoor pool. It is the only outdoor pool accessible to the public in Bay County. Our pool program provides a safe and enjoyable environment for individuals and families. A handicap ramp makes the pool accessible for all users. Pool staff can provide assistance as needed and the center maintains a wheelchair suitable for use in the pool. OUTDOOR POOL: The Community Center swimming pool is seasonal, generally open from mid-June through mid-August. Swim lessons are offered in the morning and early evening. Other times the pool is open for public swimming. A handicap ramp makes the pool accessible for all users. Pool staff can provide assistance as needed and the center maintains a wheelchair suitable for use in the pool. Seasonal hours. Please see http://www.baycounty-mi.gov/CommunityCenter/Community-Center-Pool.aspx for pool hours, rates, specials, swim lessons, and private pool parties.
