PRIVACY POLICY

Who We Are

Great Lakes Bay Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau (GLBRCVB), and its affiliates: Bay County Convention and Visitors Bureau (BCCVB), Midland County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCCVB) and Saginaw County Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCCVB), are privacy-conscious organizations (collectively "CVB"). This means we are committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals who interact with us, whether by requesting travel information, registering for a hotel room through our Extranet's Housing system, participating in one of our survey projects, working with our sales departments, participating in contests, participating in social media activities or by attending one of our many events. This approach to privacy applies to all personal information received by the CVB from our clients and/or partners, whether in electronic, paper or verbal form. It also applies to our Extranet (all formats: desktop, mobile, etc.) and social media accounts and how we use the Extranet and social media to collect information, how we use that information and the choices that are available to you regarding our use of your personal information.

In addition, we collect personal information when you agree to be a speaker at one of our events, or when you give us the rights to use a photo/video, or in various other ways. The personal information we collect usually consists of your name, an email address, phone number and mailing address at which you wish to receive communications from us. If you are participating as a speaker, or as a special guest at one of our seminars, meetings and/or events, in addition to the foregoing, a photograph, your biography and audio/visual recordings of you may be used. Finally, we may obtain personal information about you from other sources, such as from others at your place of business (if our main contact at your company asks us to add your name and email to a list of individuals who may be granted Extranet access or be added to a company distribution list), and public websites (to confirm office address and contact information). To the extent we combine information obtained from these sources with other information we may have collected about you, we will treat the combined information as personal information under this Privacy Policy. Of course, we are not responsible for the accuracy of any information provided to us by a third party.

Why Do We Need The Information That We Collect from You?

Your personal information is used by the CVB for various legitimate business purposes, all of which are undertaken in order to provide you with reliable, timely and excellent travel information. These purposes are:

  • To contact you (whether by phone or email), if necessary.
  • For our Annual Meeting, Lunch and Learn events, or other events that we may host, for the specific purpose of registering you as an attendee and sending you updates/invoices prior to, during, and after the event.
