The Dow Event Center contributes much to the recent history of The City of Saginaw. The Saginaw Civic Center was built by The City in 1972. The Civic Center was comprised of three main parts: Wendler Arena, Heritage Theater, and Unity Hall. Since 1972, The Center has been through some major transformations all while serving the Great Lakes Bay Region as a first-class event venue, offering residents hundreds of entertainment, sport, cultural, and educational opportunities. The Dow Chemical Company of Midland was awarded naming rights to the facility in September 2004. The agreement was mutually beneficial; Dow was able to support a worthy community endeavor and The Event Center was given an internationally recognized name to help draw performers, ensuring The Dow Event Center as a vital part of the Saginaw community for years to come.
The Dow Event Center is also a competitor not only in the entertainment business but the business of special catered events. Community members are seeking out The Dow Event Center to host anniversary celebrations, wedding receptions, high school proms, and everything in between. The Dow Event Center also boasts various areas to hold meetings, conventions and trade shows.
- Wendler Arena: Located at the west end of The Dow Event Center, the 25,000 sq. ft. Wendler Arena can hold up to 7,600 people. The layout of the Arena can be changed and altered to host most any kind of event. The Arena has hosted events KISS, Brad Paisley, Bob Seger, Kid Rock, Carrie Underwood, Shrine Circus, Disney on Ice, Sesame Street Live, and many more shows. Wendler Arena is also the proud home of the Saginaw Spirit, OHL franchise team.
- Jolt Credit Union Event Park: Summer months are alive with festivals and concerts. Performers such as Chicago, The Beach Boys, Bryan Adams have entertained thousands. The park is the perfect locations for festivals such as the Great Lakes Gathering Irish Festival and the Bacon & Beer Festival.
- The Red Room is a great room for expos and other events and meetings with room for 1,200 people standing and plenty of room for various table and seating arrangements.
- The Garden Room is great for more intimate gatherings with room for 150 theater-style seating, 80 banquet seating or 50 classroom seating.
We also have a chef and food and beverage team to help coordinate all your catering needs. The Dow Event Center can host conferences of various sizes in our different venues. Multi-media presentations, guest speakers and multi-level conferences with or without catering can be provided within our complex. Contact us to book your next event!

The Dow Event Center can host conferences of various sizes in our different venues. Multi-media presentations, guest speakers and multi-level conferences with or without catering can be provided within our complex.
The Red Room has two air walls that can be used to split the room in to three parts, transforming one large hall into up to three small rooms that can be accommodated to your specific needs. The air walls in The Red Room have served as a perfect divider to host a conference on one side with a catered lunch waiting on the other side.
We also provide staging, a hard wood dance floor, projector with screens, podiums and more to meet your specific needs for you special event.

Small Conference Room
The Conference Room is an excellent setting for breakout groups within a larger conference. It is also ideal for smaller board meetings, group discussions or for personal interviews. The Conference Room seats up to 12 people comfortably and is located off the Administrative Office Lobby adjacent to the Unity Hall.
For additional exhibit space or for a smaller expo, The Red Room will host 65, 8x10 foot booths.
