Ju-Yu Chen a.k.a. Louise Chen is an artist originally from Taiwan. She was encouraged to pursue the arts by her mother, Mrs. Rose Chiu, a renowned art educator and published artist. At the age of fifteen, Louise began rigorous, traditional training under several respected Chinese master artists in preparation for admission to Taiwan’s most prestigious art institutions. Her education allowed her to develop both technical mastery and a deep understanding of artistic philosophy. After graduating from National Taiwan Normal University, Louise taught art at area high schools. In 1994, she relocated to the US, where she continued painting and teaching as a freelance artist. She earned her Master of Arts degree from Northwestern State University. Currently, Louise teaches art at Saginaw Valley State University.
