It's Michigan's Free Fishing Weekend! Family Fishing Derby, Youth Fishing Clinic, Kid's Casting Contest, Special "How to" programs, Michigan Fisheries Exhibits & Presentations, Lagoon Trail Fish Fair featuring invasive species, fish crafts, lure making, Fishing ID, fishing safety, minnow racing, fish golf and free hotdog lunch for the whole family! Designed to get your family hooked on fishing!
All fishing license fees are waived. Residents and out-of-state visitors can enjoy fishing on inland and Great Lakes' waters for all species of fish. All fishing regulations will still apply.
A Recreation Passport will NOT be required for entry into state parks and boating access sites during the Free Fishing Event.
