Bring your lunch or just yourself and join us for a season of spooky--beginning with our first September #LunchandLearn, featuring author Allie Siebert discussing her book, Bloodstained: Exploring Michigan's Darkest Murders Lost to Time. This book examines five long-forgotten, headline-making murder cases from across Michigan, spanning the years 1879 to 1931. Through extensive research of newspapers, court records, and other primary sources, Seibert reconstructs these cases and explores the societal issues surrounding them, such as mental health, domestic violence, and the handling of justice at the time. The book brings these lost stories back to public memory, offering new perspectives on Michigan's past and reflecting on enduring themes of justice, memory, and the human cost of forgotten crimes.
Lunch and Learn is FREE! See you Tuesday, September 9 at noon for this presentation at the Castle Museum.
