Make a colorful fabric picture using Kinusaiga, a traditional Japanese technique often called no-sew patchwork. Drop in, choose a pre-cut design, and create a unique artwork to take home.

Explore Kinusaiga, a traditional Japanese art technique sometimes called no-sew patchwork. During this drop-in Art Encounter, choose from a variety of pre-cut designs and use colorful fabric scraps to build an image on foam board. Instead of sewing the pieces together, you will tuck the fabric into the prepared lines of the design, creating a richly patterned picture of your own. All ages are welcome to participate between 1 and 4 PM. This hands-on workshop is inspired by the temporary exhibition Echoes of Nature: 200 Years of Japanese Print Making and offers a creative way to explore pattern, color, and composition.
