The Great Lakes Bay Region Be Greater Race Prep series is designed to help you prepare for the upcoming race season. Novice to experienced runners and walkers are welcome to participate. We want to support you in reaching your individual goals; whether it's running your first race, completing your first half marathon or getting a PR! Each session includes a combination of classroom instruction and walking or running time. Participants learn the mental and physical aspects of training, proper stretching, strength training and yoga techniques, the right shoes to wear, how to protect your hips and knees, maintaining proper running form, the proper fuel for the run/walk and race strategy and etiquette. Speakers include physicians, physical therapists, and dietitians from MidMichigan Health as well as other therapists and fitness/running specialists. Training shirt and end-of-prep celebration included! Space is limited, early registration is encouraged.
