The Bay County Library System provides public library materials, services, and programs for the citizens of Bay County, Michigan. It consists of a central library, three branch libraries, and a bookmobile. The central library, the Alice & Jack Wirt Public Library, is located on the east side of Bay City. The three branches include: the Sage Branch Library, which is located on the west side of Bay City; the Auburn Area Branch Library, which is located in the city of Auburn; and the Pinconning Branch Library, which is located in the city of Pinconning. The bookmobile provides outreach services for multiple locations throughout the county. All of the library buildings provide both wireless and wired high-speed access to the Internet.
The Wirt Public Library houses the administrative offices as well as the largest collection of materials in the library system. It includes an independently operated coffee shop, a business resource center and core reference collection, a local history and genealogy room, computer lab, outdoor reading garden, and a large community meeting room.
